at Prairie’s Edge Permaculture Farm
near Blue Lake, CA
Finished Buckskins!
5pm Friday to 7pm-ish Sunday
$300-$450 sliding scale
$150 deposit holds your space.
Includes all required tools and materials.
Hides tanned will be an assortment of deer, goat and/or sheep hides.
As a group we will tan about 1 hide per 4 people.
Please contact us if you have hides.
SCHEDULE
Friday Evening at 5pm - Opening Discussion & Dinner
w/ optional fleshing of hides
(attendees are welcome to arrive earlier to set up camp and help prep workshop area)Saturday Morning - Flesh and scrape hides
Saturday Afternoon - Brain & pre-soften hides
Sunday Morning - Soften Hides
Sunday Afternoon - Smoke hides and divide up buckskin.
(We will do our best to be done by 7pm but the class may go late; so please not to schedule anything that you cannot cancel for Sunday night.)
LOGISTICS
In lieu of potluck dinner Friday and Saturday nights and snack on Sunday eve, attendees will bring ingredient donations to be prepared by the host.
Coffee and tea will be provided but bring your own breakfast and lunch.
Vaccination required or negative COVID test for all attendees.
(Subject to change depending on situation at time of workshop.)
Limited partial scholarship or work-trade spots available.
