Camp Bohemia is a unique camp where children explore and connect with the inherent beauty and wonder of nature. The extraordinary diversity of Bohemia Ecological Preserve will serve as our learning venue and inspiration. Camp Bohemia is a labor of love, inspired by the magic of Coyote Camp, directed by Stacy Lippincott and Annie Klein.

Camp Bohemia is a truly special place for children to safely and creatively explore, question and learn about the natural world and our connection to it. Campers will split into small groups for morning adventures with their highly skilled mentors. Activities will include: hiking, nature journaling, tracking, intro to bird language, and exploring Bohemia Preserve’s creeks and meadows, all while playing educational games along the way. Each group will “choose their own adventure” as they make their way a little over a mile to the pond along different routes. Campers should come prepared to hike.

There will be different areas staffed around the pond zone for the children to choose their own afternoon activity. For example, a lifeguard will supervise canoeing, an archery coach will be at the archery range, and a mentor will lead a nature craft activity daily. Additionally, there will be a shady area with books, games, and instruments for the children to relax and express their creativity, musical and story-telling skills. We will gather in the afternoon and each “clan” will share their story of the day as we create a “Big Map” of the land each week.

On Thursday June 20 and Thursday July 4 we will offer an overnight camping experience in the meadow for the children age 9 and up. This will provide an opportunity to connect deeper with each other and the land, as we sing and tell stories into the starry night sky. The overnight last year was truly a highlight as the sun was setting children were silently stalking grasshoppers in the golden grass and later sharing their talents around the fire.

Returning Staff include: Stacy Lippincott, Annie Klein, Marley Peifer and Seed Minkin.
