All the gatherings have something important to offer and
each one has its own "personality" which has grown out of
the location in which it is held combined with
the intentions of the people who attend (and host) the event.

Recent years have seen the emergence of more and more small regional gatherings
which are a wonderful trend, allowing people to congregate
and connect on a more local basis (as well as travel shorter distances).
Look for the one that is in your area!

The original, larger, and more national gatherings like
Rabbitstick & Winter Count (in the west) and Rivercane & Falling Leaves (in the east)
still flourish and have provided models for many of the more regional events.
